We are pleased to offer our patients the following services and facilities :

friendly atmosphere
You are assured a warm and friendly welcome from all of us at the Practice.

cheerful surroundings
The Practice colours are light and bright but are used sparingly so as not to overwhelm. Curved walls and a subtle use of spotlighting help create just the right atmosphere.

relax in comfort
Patients have the choice of two waiting lounges. You can watch TV in one area or listen to the radio in the other.

in chair entertainment
Lie back and relax in the dental chair and watch TV, DVD or video on our flat screen monitor on the surgery ceiling and listen on the audio headset. You can even bring your own DVD or video or simply request the TV channel of your choice.

children’s area
The children have their own special play area. The youngsters can flop on beanie-chairs and play on the spaghetti-table or watch their favourite video/TV show. Mums and Dads can keep an eye on them through the portholes in the dividing wall.

climate control and ventilation
Proper ventilation is essential in a dental practice. All areas of the Practice benefit from a constant supply of fresh air whilst our central heating and air-conditioning systems help maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the year.

treatment plans
Because we are fully computerised, patients benefit from reduced waiting times in both reception and surgery. Appointment slips and treatment plans are produced before leaving so you know exactly what is planned for your next visit. Each treatment plan also contains a breakdown of all costs. A trained member of staff will always be on hand to talk through the treatment plans should clarification be required.

dental treatment
Mrs Hall’s commitment to the General Dental Council’s re-certification scheme (called ‘Continuing Professional Development’) means that a wide range of restorative, periodontal, paediatric, cosmetic and prosthetic dental treatments are available using the very latest techniques and materials.

We have an exciting range of cosmetic dental treatments available to help improve your smile. Please do not hesitate to ask for more details on how we can help you.

We respond rapidly when referring patients to specialists (e.g. orthodontist, periodontologist etc.) and screen every patient for oral cancers.

For all our crown, bridge and denture work (prosthetics), we only use dental laboratories which are registered with the Medical Devices Agency.

patient education
Communications between dentist and patient have never been more important. We recognise that increasingly our patients wish to find out more about preventative oral health care and talk about treatment options. We are happy to spend time with you discussing the simple, yet important, things we often take for granted, like proper brushing and flossing techniques. There might be other occasions when our new intra-oral camera and overhead screen will help us to show you potential problem areas. We also have informative mouth models and lots of leaflets to explain the various dental procedures and treatment options.

hygienist
We have a great team of dental hygienists to look after you. Whether it's an essential clean or you simply enjoy that fresh breath experience, our ladies will be pleased to help.

emergency dental treatment
Patients suffering from acute dental pain will always be offered an appointment the same day for an assessment. In order to carry out any subsequent treatment as soon as possible, we operate a ‘cancellation book’ system. This means that patients in the book are contacted should another patient cancel their appointment. It is our policy to offer patients in pain priority.

emergency out-of-hours cover
From Monday to Friday, Mrs Hall provides her own out-of-hours emergency advice service for private patients on 07970 772512. At weekends private patients will be directed to the North Oxfordshire Private Dental Group Emergency Rota on 020 8133 1310.

Details of these and other (eg. holiday) emergency arrangements are left on our answerphone every evening and at weekends.

Child NHS patients should call the NHS Emergency Dental Service on 0845 345 8995. This service is provided by the local Primary Care Trust which is responsible for commissioning dental services in this area. Further information about local NHS dental services can be obtained from: Oxfordshire PCT, Indigo House, Banbury Business Park, Adderbury, Banbury OX17 3NS, 01295 814100. Alternatively, you can contact NHS Direct on 0845 4647 or online at www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk.

child dental care under the new NHS contract
We provide the full range of NHS treatment (except orthodontics and sedation) to children who were registered with the Practice as at 31/03/06. Where capacity permits (and at our own discretion), we will accept new child patients onto the NHS.

If you or your child would like to make an appointment please telephone the Practice and we will be pleased to arrange a convenient time for you.

Mrs Olga Hall (BDS, Liverpool) is the provider of NHS dental services at the Practice whilst the contract holder is Halldent Ltd (a company jointly owned and administered by Olga and Andrew Hall).

new private care patients
We are pleased to welcome new patients to the Practice under private care arrangements. There is no joining fee and you are invited to pay for your treatments on a 'pay-as-you-go' basis. We do have a New Patient Information Leaflet which outlines the benefits of private dental care. You can select this (and other leaflets) from the downloads’ section of the website.
